About Me

Adam Rok

This site and these projects were created by me: Adam Rok. I am a Marine / Aquatic scientist with an Undergraduate degree in Environmental Science and a Masters in Marine Science. Beyond that I've been working for various academic institutions for years now: doing everything from raising Hellbenders in the mountains of Virginia, to making pumping systems for water quality sensors, to running an aquatic biogeochemistry lab. I'm a jack of all trades, with skills in electronics / sensors, 3d design, field work, basic fabrication, lab / project management, wet chemistry and a whole lot more. My diverse background is what inspired me to make this site and these DIY sensor systems. The idea was to collect many years of hard learned lessons and tricks into one place, so that someone else can take this and make it even better. Because I've done such a variety of projects, and worked in all aspects of environmental / marine science projects; I've gained a unique knowledge set for merging all of these fields and skills that don't necessarily talk to each other. Hopefully you found this information useful and are able to use it to further your research and curiosity.

Feel free to reach out if you have questions or other ideas. Hopefully I will be able to keep adding to this as I learn more. Also feel free to reach out if you'd like to talk about potentially getting some kits made, or contract work done. This isn't my main job, but I'm happy to help / work with others to see what interesting ideas they are working on. I don't always keep up with this email, but I will try and keep up with it as best I can.
